DF S2 Wk 2 Impressions (FORTIFIED)
I'm not sure if all tanks are feeling quite strong now or if it's just brew. It really seems like this season's dungeons favor themselves nicely to the brewmaster toolkit. Mainly I'm referring to lots of white melee swings and phsical tank busters. It just seems like we dodge everything, stagger everything, and never get clapped.
I foresaw that fortified was going to be a lot tougher on tanks. Whereas last week my main goal was to pump as much as possible and get tyran bosses down, this week the goal is to be a rock. Just be very tanky and sacrifice SOME damage as needed.
I made the following chnages to be more tanky (and I think this was quite successful)
- Played light brewing over training of niuzao
- Swapped diurnas ring for a mastery/vers higher ilvl ring
- Played mostly with Irideus Fragment - the 3-4.5k agility for 20 seconds is really good when stacked with other defensives, such as fort brew.
- In dungeons (like FH) where I control the pull flow/content a lot, I've been playing around with Ironshell Brew vs Expeditious Fortification. When you have a big Ironshel Fort Brew up you're super tanky (example - first pull FH)
- Swapped out Bile-Stained Cragw Tusks for Bouldersplitter for more mastery/vers
I mainly play M+, so I don't get easy access to tier. Regardless, I went ahead and pugged some normal + heroic bosses and got NOTHING (classic). Since our 2pc is good defensively, and our 4pc is mostly just a small amount of dps, I went ahead and pulled a 447 tier out of the vault and used my M+ token on another to grab my 2pc. Consequently, I haven't had the chance to play around with charred passion builds yet, but I will do so in the future.
Still looking for lots of gear (even from M+)
- Treemouth's Festering Splinter
- Talisman of the Cragshaper
- Beacon to the Beyond
- Tier (kekw)
The dungeons themselves are feeling really good, and I think the community has already made a lot of good iterations on tech/routes.
