Incorporeal Impressions

This week was the first live exposure to the incorporeal affix. One or two incorporeal mobs spawn that need to be hard cc'd or interrupted. If they aren't controlled, then they cast a stacking debuff reducing healing and damage 50%. It seems the number of  incorporeal mobs that spawn is related to the number of  mobs - though I'm not sure. They spawn about once per minute.

I think this is  a great affix. Unlike some previous affixes, such as pre-nerf bolstering or sanguine, it does not really increase TIME to the dungeon. At the same time, it gives some weekly variety and increases the skill cap of a dungeon. The affix requires group communication, planning, and awareness. If the affix is handled well, then it doesn't really add time to the dungeon.

Usually the affix spawns at managable times, but on somes bosses or trash packs it can be quite a cluster. It's particularly frustrating when it spawns like 50 yards away. This happened to us on Magmatusk in Neltharus (see image below). The affix spawned all the way across the room, and there really wasn't a good way to be there in time to control them.

I've also heard reports that the affix can actually chain pull other groups of mobs when they spawn. I've done over a dozen dungeons and haven't seen this behavior, but that would be a major problem if it's true.

If I was to offer improvements to the affix, I'd would like if there was a way to know if one or two would spawn and make them consistently spawn closer to the mobs (or at least, not super far away).

Brewmaster is really good for this affix, paralyze counts as hard cc. I have a mouseover paralysis macro that makes it super easy to just drop a paralyze on them.

I also found this weakaura that automarks the incorporeal. So, if there are two next to eachother you can say "I'll get moon" instead of "left." The later of which could be confusing.

Overall, I like the affix. It's much better than something like bolstering, sanguine, or explosives. It requires group coordination and rewards communication. It's also not a full wipe if you miss the cc's in many situations. Furthermore, you can even line the casts.

We'll see how I feel about this affix moving forwards. It really does seem hard on some bosses when mechanics + incorporeal are spawning. I'm 100% sure it's going to deplete keys when this happens.
